Biography

In the last decade, British artist Lhouette (Born Ciarán Robinson) has experienced a meteoric rise to prominence in the art world. Known for his striking and subversive female silhouettes, Lhouette has established himself as a leading urban pop artist in the United Kingdom. His presence in distinguished commercial galleries across the UK since 2012 has attracted a new generation of urban art collectors, leading to sell-out solo exhibitions and widespread critical acclaim.

Lhouette's distinctive style, characterized by meticulously crafted works utilizing a mix of raw and refined materials in painted collage form, has garnered recognition for his innovative concepts like 'Post Urban Glamour' and 'Pop Maximalist.' His portfolio features a diverse range of original artworks, deluxe hybrid editions, and wall sculptures, presented in galleries, museums, and art fairs internationally.

Born in Luton Town, England in 1985, Lhouette's artistic journey was shaped by his studies at Central Bedfordshire College and later, his decision to join the Royal Navy at age 17. After returning home, he immersed himself in East London's urban art scene, drawing inspiration from his travels to the Caribbean, South America, and Europe. His experiences abroad fueled his creative vision, reflected in his vibrant and culturally rich artworks.

In 2017, Lhouette established his own independent studios in Bedfordshire, where he continues to produce outstanding works on a large scale. His artworks have been showcased at prestigious venues like The Houses of Parliament and esteemed fine art auction houses such as Christie's and Sotheby's of London. Renowned patrons and advocates of his work include Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas, the Khayami Family, Ronan and Storm Keating, and Formula One designer Adrian Newey OBE.

Notable highlights in Lhouette's career include a televised interview by BBC London News for his exhibition 'Post Urban Glamour,' a collaboration with Purling London to transform a chess set into a work of art exhibited at the WCHOF Museum St. Louis Missouri, and partnerships with celebrities like Ronan and Storm Keating to raise funds for charitable causes.

With a blend of lowbrow pop culture iconography and mixed media techniques, Lhouette continues to push artistic boundaries, leaving a lasting impact on the contemporary art scene.
