Richard Orlinski
Richard Orlinski has been the top-selling, contemporary French artist in the world since 2015. He began his artistic career in 2006 and shortly after created the iconic crocodile in bright red resin. This first art piece both truly launched his career and became the emblematic piece of sculptor's bestiary.
Richard Orlinski takes inspiration from pop culture and objects found in aspects of everyday life as well as popular ideas of interest to all. He frequently develops new sculptures with many being based on animals that represent the strength of nature. They all symbolize freedom, power and passion. He reimagines them with electrifying embellishments such as faceted surfaces and eye-catching pop colors. His resulting work is a constant staple in galleries around the world. And they have turned ordinary admirers into avid collectors.
Over the years, Richard Orlinski has pushed the boundaries of art further than any other artist of his generation. He has built his legitimacy in various fields and has taken his notoriety to greater levels. His native France recognized his efforts to innovate and motivate new generations to discover art. And in 2021 the French Ministry of Culture made him an Officer for the Order of Arts & Letters, France’s highest honour for artists and writers.
